Abstract metal art fences with glass and rock elements
Ron
portable art that looks beautiful and deters traffic
As the last house on the street, Ron's driveway was unfortunately a convenient place for others to turn their cars around. While not exactly what the homeowner envisioned it would become, he knew he didn't want a permanent structure, but what would work? He also knew it had to be something a little more aesthetically pleasing than an orange, fluorescent traffic cone. Ron called Robert to discuss his dilemma. Robert had the perfect idea in mind—create a unique, fence-like structure while being lightweight enough to pick up by hand and move.
He started by welding four steel frame panels and added steel ribbons that wrap like vines around each steel frame. Inset into each panel was a combination of rocks and multicolored glass globes. The beauty of these abstract panels lies in the way light and shadow dance on the ground around it. The panels do their job. They can attract and detract at the same time.
