Simply stated, compost tea is a brewed extract of compost. During the brewing cycle the soluble nutrients and a large percentage of organisms including bacteria, fungi, protozoa and nematodes are extracted into the tea. 

Compost tea provides and replaces the microorganisms that improve soil structure, fertility, bio-filtration and plant vigor. This process creates a diverse web of tiny creatures that make up the soil from the micro to the macro scale. These organisms break down pollutants, bind up the heavy metals, make nutrients available to the plants, recycle them endlessly and out compete the diseases that attack plants.
